Assessing and Managing the Sustainability Performance of Business Models

Track 3.4

Through the “Get to know our tracks” series of NBM2023, we are presenting to you track 3.4: “'Assessing and Managing the Sustainability Performance of Business Models” chaired by Florian Lüdeke-Freund from ESCP Business School Berlin (Germany) and Romana Rauter from University of Graz (Austria). The aim of this track is to better understand the role of business models in sustainable development and how their ecological and social impacts beyond organizational boundaries can be estimated or measured. The track is open to conceptual and empirical papers that integrate the concepts of business models and sustainability performance.

This track promises a very interesting interaction space between all the contributors and presenters. This is thanks to a new format that is being designed for the different sessions, which mainly will move away from the traditional power point lecture, towards a more in-depth discussion and interaction with the audience.

The track chairs expect that the new format of the track this year, which facilitates mutual learning and in-depth discussions, will contribute to the research done in this area of business model assessment. They have invited people to submit their work to the track, which could be work in progress or almost finished studies, and they hope that the alternative format of the track matches the interest and expectations of the participants.

All sessions will facilitate mutual learning and exchange by discussing statements in small groups as well as in plenary, and the authors will have the chance to present key aspects of their work and receive feedback. The track chairs look forward to receiving submissions and fostering discussions and exchanges.
