Registration is now open

The registration process for NBM2024 conference is in two simple steps:

Step 1: Create an account in our NBM ConfTool platform (if you didn’t do so before). This platform is used for the management of your conference submissions and will be used for the program and other conference updates.

Step 2: Go to our Registration and Payment platform to pay for your conference fees. The Registration and Payment platform is OPENED !!

Once you finalize with your payment, your main profile in ConfTool will be updated (in a few days) as a conference participant. Please note that registering and attending our conference (without necessarily having a submission) is also possible. Please make sure to have (I) created an account in Conftool and afterwards go to the registration and payment platform to complete the registration.

On-site registration for Doctoral Students

  • Early bird: € 220

  • Regular fee: € 250

  • Early bird: € 270

  • Regular fee: € 300

Submissions guidelines

Authors are invited to submit extended abstracts, short papers and full papers until 15 February 2024* via Conftool Conference Management System. Accepted contributions must be revised and resubmitted until April 30th 2024. Contributions must be submitted to one of the proposed sessions. 

All accepted contributions will be included in the conference proceedings. The book of abstracts of the 9th New Business Models Conference - NBM 2024 will be published as a book in a digital format with ISBN, DOI, and handle. In addition, individual contributions will be identified with their DOI and handle. Both the book and the individual contributions will be published in eBiltegia, the open institutional repository of Mondragon University. In all cases, permission from the authors will be required.

We already have a list of interesting highlights that you should consider in your agenda in preparation for the conference:

  • Discussing about Mondragon Challenges for a Sustainable Future  (July 3 at 16:00) hosted at the Galarreta Campus – Fundazioa Building,Jauregi Bailara s/n, 20120 Hernani. MONDRAGON is a fascinating example of a large-scale worker cooperative movement. MONDRAGON is a fascinating example of a large-scale worker cooperative movement. Founded in 1956 in the Basque Country, it is essentially a federation of more than 81 worker cooperatives employing around 70,000 people. Here an introductory VIDEO.

  • Welcome Reception (July 3 at 17:30) hosted at CHILLIDA LEKU, a sculpture park and museum dedicated to the work of the famous Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida. The Park features a collection of Chillida’s monumental sculptures, one of the most important Basque artists of the 20th century.

  • Gala Dinner (July 4th at 18:30) hosted at the MUKA restaurant in the Kursaal building in the city center of San Sebastian, including a cocktail reception with a "txalaparta" performance (Kimu Txalaparta) on the restaurant's terrace.

    This iconic restaurant boasts not only exquisite Basque cuisine but also a panoramic view of the city, the Urumea River, and the Cantabrian Sea.

    Here's what awaits you:

    • Delectable Basque Cuisine: Savor the flavors of the region with a specially crafted menu showcasing local specialties.

    • Stunning Ambiance: MUKA's elegant setting and panoramic views will provide the perfect backdrop for meaningful conversations and lasting memories.

    • Convenient Transportation: Transportation from the conference venue to the restaurant is included.

    Tickets for this dinner will be available during the registration process. For doctoral students, there is a reduced price for this social event.

 

Conference Proceedings

The NBM2024 Conference will feature two academic publications: Book of Abstracts and Conference Proceedings.

The Book of Abstracts will include the 250-word summary entered in the “Abstract” field of ConfTool upon final submission. It will be published by the Editorial Service of Mondragon Unibertsitatea through the eBiltegia Plaftorm (with DOI and ISBN). The publication will be available in electronic versions and will be open access (under CC-BY license).

The Conference proceedings will include the final versions of extended abstracts, short papers, and full papers presented. They will be published through the eBiltegia Platform, and each contribution will have a DOI. The publication will be available in electronic versions and will be open access (under a CC-BY license).

Submitting an accepted contribution to the Conference proceedings is optional. Each participant who wishes to publish must upload the final version of their contribution to Conftool by April 30th. Authors will be asked to accept these conditions by signing a contract with the Editorial Service of Mondragon Unibertsitatea.

 

Cancellations and refunds

We would like to inform all participants that conference fees are non-refundable. Please note that this policy applies to all registrations received before or after the registration deadline.

In the event that unforeseen circumstances prevent you from attending the conference in person, we are pleased to offer the option to switch to online participation. Please contact us as soon as possible if you require this option.

Additionally, if you have purchased a gala dinner ticket and are no longer able to attend the conference, we offer the option to transfer your ticket to another onsite participant. Please contact us if you wish to transfer your ticket.

We understand that circumstances may arise that prevent you from attending the conference as planned, and we regret any inconvenience this may cause. However, due to the nature of our planning and organization process, we are unable to issue refunds. We kindly request your cooperation and understanding in this matter, and we look forward to welcoming you to the conference.

If you are unable to attend the conference (after being registered), please inform us as soon as possible, as we would need to make the necessary arrangements and inform your track chair, as your contribution will not be presented during the session.
